Kittens

My mother's cat had kittens. Matthew loves to go look at the kittens when we get to grandma's house. We tell him the kittens are sleeping so he will not want to pick them up and play with them, but he is so sweet with the kittens.

He was so anxious to hold a kitten!

Once he learned, he cupped her in his hands and gave her kisses.

My First Tattoo

On April 28, 2009, I got my first tattoo. Mike was not a big fan of the idea, but since has come around. The tattoo is on my upper left shoulder area on my back. In loving memory of my grandmother, Irene. Justin Foss, the tattoo artist, did an excellent job! It literally is identical to the picture!

She was 18 in this picture, in 1954.

Water Play!!

On Memorial Day we took Carli and Matthew to the water park on Truxton. They had a great time running through the different water obstacles. Unfortunately, Matthew was knocked down by a kid riding a scooter through the water; luckily, Matthew was not hurt. Overall, we had a great time.

The 4th annual OBCBE

So Monica and I are very excited about Matthew turning 2 on Tuesday. Not only is he a big boy now but he is now old enough to compete in the 4th annual OBCBE, (Olympic Bottle Cap Blowing Extravaganza) held in Oslo Norway. Here you can see Matthew in intense training for the event. We just hope he's ready to face off against the likes of Bjørn Johannesdatter, the three-time Norwegian bottle cap blowing champion. Good luck little buddy and don't pass out...

Matthew's Masterpiece

Yesterday Matthew learned that his Cars crayons can write on our white walls.

Dad: This is not accurate, Matthew had actually colored on many walls before I got home.

Happy 2nd Birthday Matthew!!

Matthew turned 2 today! Mommy took off from school to spend the day with her boy. We had lots of fun watching movies, playing, reading books and splashing in the bath. In the evening we went to Grandma Sandie's house for cake and presents.

Grandma and Grandpa got Matthew a singing Elmo and Cars cookies.

Mmmm! Matthew loved the cake.

What the heck?!?!?!

A couple of weeks ago we were driving down Wible approaching the intersection when the light turned green. We remained stopped to allow an old, fragile woman to slowly cross the intersection. From behind we hear a honk... we look back and it was a COP honking at us to go! And then this week I'm driving to school and the minute the light turned green I hear a honk. I'm thinking...geez give me a break it barely turned green. And who was behind me you might ask? A COP! Seriously, what is wrong with cops?

Long Beach

We went to Long Beach this past weekend for the ISS convention with Mike's job. We bought a GPS before and it worked great! No getting lost!!! We both loved Long Beach and decided to visit again soon. We had a great time, but missed Matthew SO MUCH! Next time he'll definitely be with us!

ISS Convention in Long Beach

This building was amazing in person! It looked really old and vintage.

The beach was so clean and clear. No smog!

I walked along the beach while I waited for Mike to get out of the convention.

Our walk from our hotel to the nearby businesses.

The weather was really great!

Murphy's law

We all know Murphy's law states that " if anything can go wrong, it will." Luckily I'm able to remain in good spirits and just laugh at my stupidity. I left my wallet on the top of my car while I dug through my purse for my keys. Well after leaving the parking lot and making a U turn I watched my wallet fly off the car into one of the busiest streets with a line of cars quickly following. In the rear view mirror I watched all my papers and receipts fly into the air and scatter. After waiting at two signals to U turn back to my wallet more than 50 cars had ran it over! Luckily most of my credit cards and my liscense were still in tact, but I lost a few gift cards, one credit card and all my receipts and buy so many get one free cards. Its a bummer, but the worst part was I loved my new wallet and now its smashed! *cries*

If you'd like to make a donation to the 'Monica needs a new wallet fund' payments of all forms will be accepted...ha ha jk

Tennants get lost... multiple times

We took a weekend trip to San Miguel for a family Christmas party and got lost so many times I think we spent more time in the car than any where else! Michael and Matthew got to meet some of my relatives and I was able to re-introduce myself after six years. It was a lot of fun. We headed back to our hotel in Paso Robles and ended the evening with pizza and coke. On Sunday we visited Cambria, Target (to buy a stroller), and Pismo in between losing our way. It was strange to us how all the people we asked for directions and information in Cambria looked at us like we were aliens speaking a foreign language. One lady gave us directions to Target but told us to go left and we later found out it should have been a right... that little detour took us about an hour off schedule. Overall we had a good time though!

Oh daddy is looking very handsome!

I'm not really into camouflage but I have to say this looks good on me.

My cute little man!

This is the hat we chose to go with... and he looks so adorable!

This is Matthew as Baby Indiana Jones... and daddy is so proud.

We had a blast trying on silly hats at our favorite hat store in Cambria, although Matthew doesn't look very pleased in this photo.

Here I'm helping Matthew drink from his big boy cup in the big boy chair... until we decided to put him into a high chair because he moved around so much.

Matthew got a light up rooster for Christmas from one of his aunt and uncles and absolutely loved it!
